All About Atrion

Atrion is the joy of my life. He's so funny! No matter what mood I am in, he can always make me smile.
I wanted to dedicate this blog to him (even though every other blog has him in it too).
He'll be 10 months on the 13th of this month! That's so big!! I can't believe how old he is getting. At his last WIC appointment he measured at 22 lbs and 31 1/4". He always gets comments about how tall he is. He is quite tall, but I am not sure its going to be a lasting thing since neither Cody nor I is very tall. Who knows, though. Here is a list of some funny things that he does that makes me smile all day long.
~ scrunches up his little nose when he smiles and gets all snuffy (if you don't know what snuffy means, I'm sorry, but I don't know how else to explain it).
~ Whenever he hears water running, the fridge turning on, the dishwasher switch cycles, or anything along those lines- he sprint crawls over to it in record time to investigate.
~ Whenever he sits queitly for a few moments looking at a book or contemplating a toy.
~ When I go to get him out of his crib in the morning or after a nap, he is always smiling with his one little tooth poking out and he always gives me a love and a kiss.
~ He falls asleep in his car seat with his hand palm up on his chubby little legs and his face squished against his shoulder. That just tickles me when I go to get him out of the car.
~ I walked into his room when he was supposed to be asleep and he was reaching so hard for the books on his book shelf (which I though was far enough away). He had 5 in his crib already and a pile on the floor.

~ He has a little song that he sings when he crawls for toy he is excited about. I say song, but its more of a happy sound he makes.
~ He says "DADADADADADADADADA!" over and over again when he sees Cody.
~ He knows what the words "ball", "bottle", "sit", "No, NO", "Dada", "Mama", "Book", and "Num Num" means. He'll go find his ball when I say "Where's the ball?"
~ He loves to attack my toes and sometimes I will be surprised when a slobbery mouth is suddenly gnawing on one of mine.
~ He's always so happy to be outside even when it's windy. He does little gasping sounds like he's drowning in wind, but he's smiling the whole time.

~ I love when I feed him a bottle and his little hand reaches up and touches my face softly.
~ I love when I read him a book and he laughs hysterically at the voices I do.
~ He yells in excitement at the "Directv" logo that floats across the tv screen when a show is paused.
~ He makes his mouth into a little "O" and says "oohoh" when he sees something new or a toy that he wants to get.

~ I love that every time I take his picture, he makes this face:

Also, that is Cody's picture on the left and my baby picture on the right. Atrion looks more like Jake when he was a baby, I think. :)
I love my baby more than anything in this entire world and I am so grateful for his beautiful spirit and sweet smile. I'm so excited to see him take his first steps and say his first real words. I'm so happy that I have the priviledge of being able to stay at home with him and help him learn and grow and love on him all day.

oh sweetness! He is definitely his own little person...he really doesn't resemble either of you as babies all that much. Where did he get his nose...he just must be right in the middle of both of you.

I love that he was reaching so hard for his books when he should have been sleeping...that makes my heart swell in only a way a mom's can I think. He is just so eager to learn and explore and can't waste time sleeping it away.

I love that he gives loves...so sweet! And that he laughs at you and strokes your face and sprint crawls.

And I definitely know what snuffy face is...Carter started doing that when we went to Maui and it was my favorite and when anyone would come and talk to him he would get all snuffy and scrunch his nose and show his teeth. Love that.

Sigh...they grow up too fast. It seems like I was just celebrating Carter doing these things(like going to get the ball when asked) and now he is old with almost no signs of baby...so cherish it...like you are doing...write about him lots because you will love holding on to these fleeting, precious moments because they come and go so quickly...sigh again.

oh what a cutie!! He reminds me of Jake when he was a baby. I don't know what it is. I can't believe how big he is. I swear you just had him!!

Oh this just makes me want to squeeze him to pieces. He is so much like Cody. He makes the world a brighter place just by his smile. Love him, mean it.
