Happy Fun Times!

A wise man once said "If you don't have your health, you don't have much." That is one of the most true sentences ever uttered. We have been battling illness for what seems like an eternity. Nothing scary, just the usual cold/flu/allergy stupidness. It has lingered since January. There was a week where I had such high energy and my days were filled with ambition and getting stuff done. Then Atrion started with his coughing and throwing up. When a child is sick, everything else basically stops. Cody has also been battling his allergies and eye infection. And now I am on steroids to help build up my lungs so that I don't hack and cough all over everyone anymore. We are just a poor lot.

On the up side, we have made some great friends in the ward! Last weekend was spent listening to conference and having the Beers' over for dinner and game night. They have a daughter, Sophie, who is almost exactly Atrion's age. So it was great to have him interact with someone his age. Me and Amanda took Atrion and Sophie to Pump It Up today. It's a really fun bounce house/slide place that you can rent out for parties but they offer a preschool play time on Mondays and Tuesdays for an hour and a half. It's 7-8 bucks and they can go wild and jump and play to their hearts content. I had to go buy a pair of socks for Amanda and me so we could jump and play with them. We had a lot of fun and were very tired by the time it was over.

I don't know who the people in this picture are. They just suddenly showed up as I aimed my camera. I wanted a picture of Atrion but I decided it was better to spend my time playing with him then trying to hunt around for a good photo op. I think this will be a biweekly thing so plenty more opportunities for that.
So far, here are Atrion's top favorite things to do in Memphis:
1. Zoo
2. Pump It Up
3. Shelby Farms
4. Wolfchase Mall
5. Library (mostly for the escalators)
6. Park
7. Children's Museum
8. Walk around Campus
9. Eat Ice Cream Cones
10. Watch shows at home

A pretty good list. I am still trying to scrape together some fun, cheap activities to do out of the house, but I am not quite there yet.

I have peas and zuccini growing up in the back. Probably won't last because of the upcoming heat, but I am excited they got this far. It's sort of uneven, and I need to pull weeds, but all in good time. I think my dad would be proud. I even have a tomato plant to commemorate Silvester gardening time.

Happy fun times!

I definitely need to come and bring Carter to Pumo It Up...I can just bring a book and read for hours because I am sure he could stay and play in that place all day.

Your garden is awesome! Way to go!!

Isn't it funny how much kids love escalators?!! That's still my kids' favorite thing to do too. I hope you guys get feeling better soon!
