Atrion is One Year Old!

My sweet, little baby is a already a year old. I keep looking at his baby picture hanging on our wall and marveling at how fast this year has gone by. He is the most amazing person and I can't believe I am priveleged enough to be his momma. It seems like he is learning and accomplishing new things everyday. His determination astounds me. He just keeps trying until he gets it. I learn a lot from this little man. He makes me laugh everyday and brightens up my world.
It hasn't always been an easy road but if I look back on my world before he existed, then I think to myself "What was I doing that was as important as this little boy?" and the answer is nothing. I can be selfish and think "I used to get so much more done in a day" but then I realize none of that stuff was really worth doing. I'm not going to remember how much of the house I got cleaned one day, or if I did all the laundry, or set out something to defrost in time for dinner, or updated my facebook. Nope, I am going to remember the times I stopped to play with my child, and cuddle him, and be close to him because he is growing up too fast and soon he may not let me do those things with him.

This past week has been so fun with him. On Sunday, we had a joint birthday with Atrion and our Nation (4th of July). We went out to Grammie Wootton's with Jake because he stayed the weekend with us. I had made a cake the night before for Atrion to eat and I hated the way it turned out. I was embarrassed that other people actually ate it. Atrion eats stuff off the floor and licks shoes so I knew he wouldn't mind.

From Grammie and Bompa, he got (besides a fabulous birthday venue and delicious food) a front-facing carseat. He loves that!! It also came with a little cupholder and food tray so he loves that too. From Gramma and Grampa Silvester and Uncle Jake he got a punch ball and a monster truck. He didn't get to play with the punch ball too long because Granpa blew it up and it popped a half hour later. But he loves to play with his truck. Aunt Shelby, Uncle Joe, Easton, and Reese got him a very cute outfit and a ball with little squiggly, sticky tentacles that he loves to bite off. I can't wait for him to fit in that outfit! Aunt Shy and Uncle Danny and Kairi gave him some much needed summer PJ's and a toy car that he likes to play with along with his truck. From me and Dad he got a pull along puppy that yips and wags his tail. He doesn't like that so much right now, but maybe soon. All in all, he got some good gifts and we had a lot of laughs watching him eat the cake and open presents.

I was digging through my pictures and wanted to post some of my favorites over the past year. Enjoy.

oh my little chubba monkey! He is the sweetest boy. I can't believe how fast it has gone either! That first picture with Cody when he is just so tiny and brand new makes me realize how fleeting the moments really are. How much Atrion has accomplished in a year is quite incredible....go Atrion developing and becoming human and all. haha.

And oh man I love him in his little church suit! So dapper! You need to put a little fancy hat on him and do a photo shoot...I bet Shelby could help you with that;) You guys also need to get a new family pic with Shelby too. We need a new family pic really bad...but ugh I don't want to be in it.:)

I loved all the pictures. You are good Momma! I am very proud of my little sister and the job you are doing!

I especially loved this post! Sweet little Atrion is growing so fast--I can't believe that it was only a year ago when he was born. I'd love to do one year pictures for him, just let me know! I miss him already and can't wait to see you guys on Thursday!
