My father, Curtis Dean Silvester, has probably worked hard every single day of his life. The first job I remember him going to was for my grandpa (his dad), and it was usually to sit on a tractor and plow a field or change some water. This was when I was very young and either wasn't in school yet, or was in kindergarten and would only go half days. So sometimes I was lucky enough to get to go with him and had my own special seat on the tractor (there was a tire covering that I sat on and held on to a small handle to keep from sliding off... it sounds dangerous but probably wasn't). I remember singing Beach Boys songs like "Sloop John B" and having the time of my life out there with him. I was his special helper.
Then he got a new job at the Sugar Factory and came home smelling like it too. I always had conflicting thoughts in my head because I thought he was making delicious things like candies at the sugar factory, but candy smelled good and he didn't.
Then he switched jobs to drive truck for Watertech. Here he mixed and delivered chemicals for water treatment plants (I think). I remember goingt here after hours and playing with the office supplies and chemical beakers. It was really fun, but probably not what I was supposed to be doing.
After that he worked a brief stint for JB Hunt driving truck long distances, then got his job that he currently has at Standard Nutrition. He bags nutrients for dairy feed and delivers them to dairies all across Southeast Idaho and parts of Utah. He also cleans up the plant and other things too.
My dad is a very hard working, industrious man who never passes an opportunity to help others out with service. He uses a lot of elbow grease to get things done and isn't afraid to roll his sleeves up. I have learned a lot from him and greatly appreciate that example he set for me. I love my Dad.

Yep...Dad is the epitome of hard work.
I am glad you have fond memories of riding the tractor...I hated every minute of farming:) ...but funny how I actually appreciate learning how to work and doing hard things. When I went to college my year I saw the benefit of being able to actually do things for myself instead of relying on someone else to do it for me. That all ended when I got married...haha...I would rather have Josh do all the hard stuff now;)
