When I first attended Idaho State University, I lived in the Redfield dorms on the third floor, second to last dorm on the left side. My roommate was Nikki Bishop, who turned out to be awesome. We got along so well. I also had dorm neighbors who went to my highschool and some other girls turned out to be really cool. The boys side of the dorms were connected by the common rooms that had a pool table, computer lab, huge TV and wraparound couch, and a study room. We had our meals in the other dorms called Turner Hall. It was a feast every night! There was always a large selection plus a salad bar, hot dog bar, grill, and soda machines. Oh yeah...ice cream too. Luckily, we also had a gym pass.
I love my dorm room. It was so comfy cozy. I had a few plants and lots of knick knacks from home. I had my Cat Stevens, Led Zeppelin, and Orlando Bloom posters. I had my favorite books, and a brand new sheet set. Eventually I got a little TV that Laura and Josh won for me so I could watch CSI all day long. Nikki had a computer so I could use that if needed.
Laura and Josh lived just across the massive parking lot so I could venture their way to do laundry when I needed. Plus, Laura surprised me by decorating my room on my birthday. I love my sister. She is so thoughtful.
The ward on campus was amazing. Bishop Kirkham was so sweet. He made a big impact on my life because he always reminded me who I was and how much potential I had.
After the first semester, I moved into University apartments that were single bedrooms. This is where that life started to crumble. Nikki's nonmember boyfriend started to stay over in our apartment (in the living room, at first) but then they slept together on the bunk beds that we share. As far as I know they never did anything, but him being their literally drove me out of my own house. Luckily, I had met some new friends and went rock climbing a lot and even toured the city with another group of friends. I got a job at Taco Bell and started making a little more money. I did okay in school and kept my grades up. Then a miraculous thing happened. I found out about Myspace. A little while later, I got a message from a certain hottie name Cody. I had never seen him in my life. But my roommate had in the first semester. He knew my roommate who was posing with me in my profile picture and got curious as to why he didn't meet this cute red head.
Shortly after that, my parents gave me the old family vehicle, I moved in with my sister across town and started dating Cody. I was used to living in small spaces so my room was pretty huge in comparison. However, me and my sister CANNOT live together. I am not sure why, because we are best friends. We perservered for awhile, and they were very nice to put up with me for so long.
Laura was there the first time I met Cody in person. We had come up with a code in case I wanted her to save me from a horrible creepy guy, or if things were going great and she could stand down.
I quit Taco Bell a little while later. Then got a stupid job at Convergys. Moved into an apartment with Shyanna (Cody's sister)who lived in the building next to Cody's apartment. Shyanna and I became instant friends and then eventually best friends. This time in my life is one that I have the fondest memories of. I didn't work at Convergys very long, tried Walmart but quit because I wanted to go to Warp Tour. Then got a longer lasting job at Great Harvest.
This created a very stable environment for me. I had great friends, a love interest, a wonderful ward, family close by, a stable job, school, and my health. We made 3AM trips to Walmart for groceries, played frisbee at midnight on the quad, took long walks that sometimes led to the awesome graveyard, and ate snow cones at Ross Park. We played racquetball, went to school dances, had slumber parties, and just had so much fun. There was definitely boy drama all throughout, but it ended well (three years later.....).
It was a fun time and I wouldn't change a minute of it. Except maybe taking more pictures.

Aww, I loved living with you. You've always been such an amazing friend to me. This reminded me of when you let me move into your tiny apartment. I appreciated that so much. It got me out of a horrible situation. I know it was a huge inconvenience having my boxes of stuff everywhere but you were so great about it. I love you for that! :)
yeah...you forgot to mention the tiny studio...which I actually love...just wish the bathroom was connected.
I am glad you love me:)
I didn't mention the studio because I wasn't in school during that time. I only went for about a year and then stopped.
I enjoyed reading your post.
And i also like you blog. Its beautiful!
