Wednesday's seem to always fall flat for me. Mondays are family home evening, Tuesdays are family movie nights (kinda dropped the ball on that one the past little bit), Thursdays are our date night, and Fridays are Cody's game night as well as Atrion and Mom night. But Wednesdays....nuthin. However, this past Wednesday I convinced Cody that we needed Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner and that he needed to come with me to get it. And he did! I win! In Memphis, it takes 20 minutes to drive 7 miles. It was after 4 so the traffic was rough, but it is so much better driving at a snail's pace when you have someone to talk to. Atrion fell asleep in his chair while we chatted about the meaning of life and happiness.

I am always surprised by the lack of lines at this Papa Murphy's. It's the only one within 50 miles of us, but no one is ever there. I guess it isn't as popular down here as up North. It still tastes just as good though. When we pulled into the parking lot Cody noted that there was a pie shop a few doors down from Papa Murphy's. I was aghast! How could I not have noticed this the several other times I have been here. I used to think I was so observant. Cody proves me wrong on a daily basis just solely on how observant he is. While we were waiting for our pizzas to get made, we wandered over to the pie shop. The aromas were heavenly. They had window cases filled with pies and cookies. And we got to try samples! I love samples!! We ended up buying Slap Yo Mama Chocolate Pie!

I have never been a big pie fan. This pie changed all of that. It is amazing. There is a a thin, crispy layer between the chocolate and the whip cream. Everything is decadent and rich. Mmmmm....so good. It is pricey though. It was $10.00 for half a pie! Almost $20.00 for a whole one! Yeesh! It was nice to try something new and explore part of this city with Cody.

This is a picture of my boys, stuffed to the rafters. Atrion needed to let it all hang out, I guess.

SO, I think maybe Wednesdays will be my "Observant Day". I will try and look more closely at things on this particular day and make better use out of my surroundings. Or maybe it can be my try-something-new day. Or both! Whatever.

Was it really called Slap Yo Mamma Pie? Because the fact that we have both used that phrase within the last week makes me curious:) I need to try it though...I love pie. I love pie more than cake and cupcakes and ice cream. I also love chocolate. When I consider these two things I can deduce that I would love this pie. Then drive to Idaho and slap mom because it so good. I have been needing a reason to visit Idaho. So maybe I should try this pie.

That pie looks delicious. I am not a big pie fan. To me, the only good pies are coconut cream, banana cream and Boston cream :) To me, no pie is good enough to slap your momma. Laura, if you come to Idaho to slap me, I will run away.
